A total of 80 pieces of graffiti were removed from across Hart and Rushmoor during Graffiti Focus Week recently.
The Safer North Hampshire* community safety team holds a removal week annually, where graffiti is removed from both public and private property in response to concerns from residents.
Of the 80 incidents of graffiti removed, 41 incidents were removed by Rushmoor Borough Council Community Patrol Officers and 39 incidents, of which 15 were in Hart, were removed by Graffiti Removal South.
Cllr Simon Bound, chairman of the Safer North Hampshire Partnership, said: “Graffiti is not a huge problem in most areas of Hart and Rushmoor, although it can be very unsightly where it is found. This project helps to ensure that we remove unsightly graffiti as quickly as possible which can make a real difference to the appearance of an area –thank you to everyone for reporting graffiti to us.”
Graffiti can be reported by visiting www.fixmystreet.com or by calling 01252 774476. Residents in Rushmoor can also download the new “Love Rushmoor” app for iPhone, Android or Windows phone, which lets residents report problems whilst out and about.
