A Yateley man has been ordered to comply with a Criminal Behaviour Order following a hearing at Aldershot Magistrates Court on Wednesday, February 24.
Officers from the Hart Neighbourhood Policing Team, supported by partners from Hart District Council, applied for the order under the new anti-social behaviour legislation. Harry Turner from Hearsey Gardens, Yateley received the order after being convicted in January for racially aggravated harassment, racially aggravated threatening behaviour and three shoplifting offences.
The five-year order bans the 18-year-old from acting in an anti-social manner anywhere within the UK and not to associate in public with a named individual except for educational and employment purposes.
PC Dan Lehec from Hart Neighbourhood Policing Team said: ”Harry’s actions have caused significant anxiety to residents in Hearsey Gardens for a considerable period of time.
“We, with our partners had made many efforts to help him to address his behaviour and actions, however he unfortunately continued to act in a manner which was not acceptable to the local community.
“The order is designed to tackle his anti-social behaviour and provides the police with the power to arrest him if he breaches the order.
“This order gives a clear message that this sort of disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated and shows our commitment to reducing anti-social behaviour and crime in our local community.”
