A free community event, featuring music, stalls, games and entertainment for all the family, will be held in Municipal Gardens, in Aldershot on September 5, between 11am and 3pm.
The event, organised by the Safer North Hampshire * community safety team, will include a basketball tournament, a football target ring provided by Aldershot Town Football Club, a Brazilian samba drumming band, craft-making, such as willow-weaving, printing and ink craft and Jamaican food stalls, among many others.
Young children will be well-catered for by giant games such as KerPlunk and Jenga as well as a play area and face-painting.
Cllr Ken Muschamp, Portfolio Holder for Business, Safety and Regulation, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone in the community to enjoy a free, fun afternoon of entertainment in the park, with a very diverse range of attractions.”
Young people are required to pre-enrol, if they want to take part in the basketball tournament between 11am and 3pm. There will be two categories – one for under 14 year-olds and one for the under 18 year-olds, and mixed teams of boys and girls. Anyone wanting to enter should contact municipal.basketball@Gmail.com
All other attractions can be enjoyed by just turning-up on the day.
The event has been funded by the Military Covenant Fund and Rushmoor Borough Council.
