Bookings are now being taken to attend a FREE drug awareness workshop in November to help parents and carers know where to look for support and which steps to take if they suspect young people are using drugs or becoming involved in gangs involved in drugs.
The workshops, rearranged from earlier in the summer, have been organised by Safer North Hampshire, and will be held on the following dates:
• 7 November, Rushmoor Borough Council offices
• 13 November, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council offices
• 21 November, Hart District Council offices
The sessions will all be held from 7-8.30pm.
A variety of information will be on offer during the workshops, including how to spot the signs that a young person is using drugs, the risks of drug-use, and how to help young people and vulnerable adults avoid getting caught up in drug gangs who may exploit them by using them to smuggle and sell drugs across county lines.
Cllr Simon Bound, chairman of Safer North Hampshire, said: “The workshops are designed to give parents useful information so they are better able to spot any warning signs that their young people are becoming involved in drugs.”
