Holiday football courses, run by Aldershot Town Football Club’s Community Trust, are underway across Hart and Rushmoor and will run until the end of August.
Sessions are open to boys and girls, aged from five to 14 years-old, of all skills levels, and are taking place between 6pm-7.15pm at the following venues:
Mondays – Peter Driver Playing Fields, Church Crookham, and at King George V Playing Field, Farnborough.
Tuesdays – Oakley Park, Fleet, and Aldershot Park, Aldershot.
Wednesdays – Ancells Farm Park, Fleet, and Pinewood Park, Farnborough.
Thursdays – Basingbourne Park, Fleet, and Manor Park, Aldershot.
Fridays – Yateley Green, Yateley, and Cove Green, Farnborough.
Pan-disability sessions take place on Wednesdays at Samuel Cody School, Farnborough, from 10-11am. These sessions are free to attend.
Cllr Robert Tate, Chair of the Safer North Hampshire* community safety partnership, said: “This is a great opportunity for young people to develop their skills and take part in a healthy sporting activity outdoors. I hope it is as popular as ever.”
Cllr John Kennett, Hart District Council Cabinet Member for Regulatory Services and Community Safety, said: “These courses are a fabulous way for young people to make new friends and learn to work as a team. They will have opportunities to play football matches and win trophies as well as learning lots of footballing tips to improve their game.”
Cllr Ken Muschamp, Rushmoor Borough Council Cabinet Member for Safety and Regulation, including community safety, said: “This project is an excellent way for young people to meet, exercise outside and work together as a team.”
No need to book – just turn up and play. Each session costs £3.
The Soccer at Six initiative is a joint venture between Fleet Town Council, Hart District Council, Rushmoor Borough Council, the Safer North Hampshire community safety team and the Aldershot Town FC Community Trust.
